Pitch Day

Pitch Day was held on June 16, and it was highly successful! Our Fellows showcased their top business concepts in front of our corporate and investment partners. Each pitch delivered an inspiring message filled with ambition, creativity and potential for success.

Our Fellows have been working closely with our corporate partners over the last four months to ideate and de-risk their startups, and they are now prepared to take a significant step forward in their development.

Throughout the day, we witnessed three distinct pitches, with concepts related to water use and efficiency, tracking and traceability, and data sharing across the supply chain. Each concept was impressive and well received by our corporate partners.

The Spring 2023 cohort of Fellows was an exceptional group who brought with them a diverse range of experiences. Learn more about them here.

If you missed Pitch Day, make sure you check out the below highlight reel from the day, which includes clips of what some of the corporate partners in attendance had to say.

We’ll keep you updated on next steps with the companies presented at Pitch Day. And by the way, we’re already preparing to bring in our next group of Fellows for the Fall ’23 Cohort! Stay tuned for an announcement on that.

Expert article on data and analytics in the agri-food supply chain

Make sure you check out the article our DIAL Ventures research team co-authored with Brady Brewer, Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, about data usage and analytics in the agricultural supply chain. It was recently published in Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy.

The amount of data being collected throughout the agricultural supply chain has increased in both volume and velocity. All signs indicate that this will only increase as data collection technologies become more cost-effective and prevalent throughout the supply chain. Our mission at DIAL Ventures is to lead the way in leveraging this macro trend.

The second episode of the DIALed IN webcast is now out! It features Rob Dongoski from EY Food & Agribusiness. He shares his visionary perspective on transforming the way we produce, distribute and consume food. Discover how innovative strategies, digital advancements and sustainability efforts are reshaping the future of the agri-food industry.
